Cardboard envelopes (also called protective bags or mailing bags) are shipment packaging products for posting flat items such as stationery, documents or storage media such as CDs or DVDs.
Application/Uses
The cardboard envelopes can be used for internal or external mail and reliably protect books, catalogues or flyers from unauthorized opening or external factors including damp, dirt or dust.
In addition, the cardboard envelopes are the ideal packaging solution for advertising materials such as calendars. They also protect your documents from dog ears and creases due to their robust construction from corrugated or solid cardboard.
Composition
As a general rule, the envelopes are made from kraft paper, solid cardboard, corrugated cardboard or greyboard. The base is often strengthened with a cardboard insert. In addition, it is possible to add further padding with bubble wrap (also see padded bags).
Sealing options
For external mailing and to protect from unauthorized early third-party access, the cardboard envelopes feature a so-called self-adhesive seal or adhesive seal that can be opened by the recipient with the pre-perforated tear open strip.
Furthermore, each cardboard envelope has an additional tuck-in flap and a hole for brass fasteners. These closing mechanisms are especially suited for internal mailing (in house mail), as they allow for re-use.

Cardboard envelope designs
Whether standard ISO formats or square shapes, the posting envelopes are available in different sizes and in a white or brown finish. Furthermore, the envelopes also differ in height. (Please be aware that the higher the product, the smaller the inside dimensions of the envelope.)
All envelopes can also function as a perfect advertising medium or presentation packaging when custom printed with your individual design or company logo. (Please take a look at our product table below for this.)
